WoWStats.io Data Methodology
WoWStats.io uses official Blizzard APIs to discover public World of Warcraft character profiles through Mythic+ leaderboards, current PvP leaderboards and other public roster sources. We are not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.
What a tracked character means
A tracked character is a maximum-level public character profile stored in our database, not a unique person, subscriber or Battle.net account. One person can own multiple characters. The separate active count includes tracked characters whose Blizzard profile reports activity within the last 30 days. Private or undiscovered profiles are not represented.
Coverage and regional comparisons
Global figures are the sum of our EU, US, Korea and Taiwan samples. They are not an estimate of Blizzard's complete global population. Regional samples can differ substantially in size, so percentages should always be read together with their sample count.
Character statistics
Current Midnight character statistics show both the complete tracked maximum-level sample and the active 30-day subset. Faction and gender percentages use that active subset. Duplicate discovery paths are merged so a character found through multiple public sources is counted once.
PvE talents
PvE talent statistics only use characters discovered through Mythic+ data. PvP-only characters do not influence PvE talent choices. Talent rows are scoped by expansion, game version and recency to avoid mixing older builds into current results.
Professions
Profession percentages use successfully checked profiles as the denominator. Because a character may have two primary professions, profession percentages can total up to roughly 200%.
Updates and limitations
Statistics are rebuilt after controlled collector runs and may remain unchanged between runs. API availability, profile privacy, rate limits and uneven regional discovery affect coverage. Each statistics page should therefore be treated as a transparent sample of tracked public data.
