WoW Token FAQ

Learn how to buy, sell and redeem a World of Warcraft Token, how regional gold prices work, and what happens when a Token does not sell immediately.

What is a WoW Token?

A WoW Token is an official World of Warcraft item that connects two player needs. A player can buy a Token with real money and sell it through the in-game Auction House for gold. Another player can buy that Token with gold and redeem it for 30 days of game time or, where supported, Battle.net Balance.

Why would anyone need a WoW Token?

Players who need gold can use the official in-game system instead of unsafe third-party gold sellers. Players with extra gold can use it toward game time or supported Battle.net Balance. The Token therefore provides a secure, Blizzard-approved exchange between time, account credit and in-game gold.

How does the WoW Token work?

There are two separate paths. A Token purchased for real money can be listed on the dedicated WoW Token section of the Auction House and sold for a quoted amount of gold. A Token purchased from the Auction House with gold becomes Soulbound and can be redeemed, but it cannot be sold again.

How do I buy a WoW Token with real money?

Launch World of Warcraft, open the in-game Shop from the main menu or the shop button near your character bags, select the WoW Token and complete the purchase through your Battle.net account. The Token normally appears in your inventory, or in your mailbox if the inventory is full. It is purchased inside the WoW client rather than as a normal item from another player.

How do I buy a WoW Token with gold in game?

Open an Auction House, visit the WoW Token section and review the current regional gold price. There is no bidding or player-selected buyout price. Confirm the purchase and the Token should arrive through in-game mail, ready to redeem for an available reward.

How is the WoW Token gold price calculated?

Blizzard adjusts the regional gold price dynamically according to supply and demand. All buyers in the same game region see the same current market price. WoWStats.io tracks this regional price history, but the price displayed in game at the moment of the transaction is authoritative.

What if I can't sell my WoW Token on the Auction House?

Only a Token originally purchased for real money can be listed, and it must be sold through the dedicated WoW Token exchange. A Token bought with gold is Soulbound and cannot be resold. If an eligible Token is already listed, it does not expire; sale time can vary with regional supply, demand and transaction verification. If the interface refuses an eligible listing, check account and Token limits and contact Blizzard Support.

Will I receive the quoted amount of gold if the Token price changes?

Yes. When you list an eligible Token, the quoted gold amount is locked in. Once it sells, that quoted amount is delivered to your in-game mailbox even if the live regional market price changed while the Token was listed.

Can I cancel a WoW Token auction or set my own price?

No. WoW Token transactions are final, the listing cannot be cancelled, and players cannot choose their own price. Blizzard uses a single market price for the region. The Auction House does not require the normal deposit or take the normal seller cut for a WoW Token sale.

Can I resell a WoW Token bought with gold?

No. A Token purchased from the Auction House with gold becomes Soulbound and can only be redeemed for the rewards available to that account and region. Each WoW Token can be sold only once.

How much game time does a WoW Token provide?

Redeeming one eligible WoW Token provides 30 days of World of Warcraft game time. In supported regions you may instead be offered Battle.net Balance; the balance amount and currency depend on the country and currency registered to the Battle.net account.

Do WoW Tokens expire?

No. WoW Tokens do not expire and cannot be accidentally deleted. A listed Token can take longer to sell when market conditions change, but waiting does not make the Token disappear.

Are WoW Token prices shared across regions?

No. Europe, the Americas and Oceania, Korea and Taiwan have separate WoW Token markets. Supply and demand differ in each market, so their gold prices and trends can be very different. A Token and its value are tied to the relevant game region and Battle.net account rules.

Are there limits on buying or redeeming WoW Tokens?

Yes. Blizzard applies account, inventory, purchase and Battle.net Balance limits, and those rules may be updated. If a purchase or redemption is unavailable even though you have enough money or gold, consult the current Blizzard Support article for the precise limit affecting your account.

Account rules can change. Confirm current restrictions in the official Blizzard WoW Token FAQ.
