Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how WoWStats.io ("WoWStats.io", "we", "us" or "the site") handles information when you visit the website, use its statistics and tools, view advertising or contact the site operator. It also explains how public World of Warcraft character data is used to create aggregated statistics.

WoWStats.io does not provide user accounts, direct purchases or payment processing. Please do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers, health information or other sensitive personal data through any contact channel.

1. Who controls the data

The operator of WoWStats.io is the controller of personal data processed directly for operating this website. Privacy requests and questions can be submitted through the channel published on our Contact page. Google and other third-party services may act as processors or separate controllers for their own processing, as explained in their policies.

2. Information we process

Technical and server information

When your browser requests a page, our hosting and network infrastructure may process the IP address, request date and time, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer, browser or device information and diagnostic or security events. This information is needed to deliver pages, diagnose errors, prevent abuse and protect the service.

Analytics information

The site integrates Google Analytics to understand page visits and navigation. Depending on your location, device settings and consent choices, Google Analytics may process page URLs, page titles, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, interaction events, IP-derived information and cookie or similar identifiers. WoWStats.io does not intentionally send names, email addresses or other directly identifying contact details to Google Analytics.

Advertising information

The site integrates Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may receive information such as the page URL, IP address, browser or device details, advertising identifiers and cookie information in order to deliver ads, measure performance, limit repeated ads and detect fraud or abuse. Depending on applicable law, consent and account settings, ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited.

Embedded third-party content

Some articles or guides may include embedded YouTube videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain. Loading or playing embedded content can still create a connection to Google or YouTube and allow those providers to process technical and interaction information under their own terms.

Information you provide

If you contact us, we may process the contact details you provide, the content of your message and related correspondence in order to respond, investigate a report, handle a privacy request or protect our legal rights. Providing optional information is voluntary, but we may be unable to respond without a usable return address.

Public World of Warcraft character data

WoWStats.io obtains public game information through official Blizzard APIs and public game-data sources. Depending on availability, this may include an in-game character name and identifier, realm, region, guild relationship, faction, race, class, specialization, level, item level, professions, talents and leaderboard or activity data. We use this information to maintain records and generate aggregated statistics.

An in-game character is not treated as proof of a person's real identity. We do not receive Battle.net passwords or private account credentials. However, a character name or game profile may still relate to an identifiable person in some circumstances. If you believe a displayed record concerns you and should be corrected or reviewed, contact us with enough information to identify the relevant character and request.

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing and securing the site: our legitimate interests in operating a reliable, secure and abuse-resistant information service.
  • Creating public game statistics: our legitimate interests in research, statistical analysis and providing community information based on publicly available game-profile data, balanced against the rights of affected individuals.
  • Responding to messages and requests: our legitimate interests, steps taken at your request, compliance with legal obligations or establishment and defence of legal claims, depending on the request.
  • Analytics and non-essential storage: consent where required by applicable law.
  • Advertising and ad personalization: consent where required; limited or non-personalized advertising may still involve technical processing necessary to deliver, measure and secure an ad.
  • Legal compliance: processing necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies, browser storage, pixels and similar technologies may be used to remember privacy choices, maintain security, measure traffic and support advertising. Strictly necessary technologies are used to provide requested functionality. Analytics and advertising technologies may require your consent depending on where you live.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser. Doing so may affect site features, analytics or advertising. Google also provides My Ad Center for advertising choices and a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Third parties and recipients

Information may be processed by the following categories of recipients:

  • hosting, content delivery, reverse proxy, database, logging and security providers;
  • Google Analytics, Google AdSense and related Google advertising or measurement services;
  • YouTube when embedded content is loaded or played;
  • professional advisers, authorities or other parties when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

To learn how Google processes information from partner websites, read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google's own processing is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

6. International data transfers

Some providers, including Google, operate internationally. Information may therefore be processed outside your country or the European Economic Area. Where required, providers and the site operator must use an applicable transfer mechanism and safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections. Details of Google's safeguards are available in its privacy and data-processing documentation.

7. Data retention

  • Technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for availability, troubleshooting, security and abuse prevention, subject to infrastructure rotation and backup schedules.
  • Messages are retained while the request is handled and afterward only as reasonably necessary for follow-up, legal obligations or dispute management.
  • Public game records and statistical snapshots are refreshed, replaced, aggregated or removed according to their continued relevance, source availability, technical requirements and the project's statistical methodology.
  • Google controls retention within its services according to the configured product settings and its policies. Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is managed through the Analytics property settings.
  • Backups and caches may keep limited copies for a short additional period before automatic rotation or replacement.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights to receive information, access personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to processing, withdraw consent and receive portable data. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Some rights are not absolute and may not apply to anonymous or genuinely aggregated statistics.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority responsible for your place of residence, work or the alleged infringement. In Poland, the supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

9. Children's privacy

The site is a general information resource and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a contact channel, please ask us to review and delete it where appropriate.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and visitors should avoid sending information that is unnecessary for their request.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the site, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available at this URL and the "Last updated" date will be revised when material changes are published.
